We asked Michael some Picky questions.
Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your role?
I’m Michael, Supply Chain Manager for Picky. My hobbies include aviation and I like to go flying whenever I can.
My team and I ensure all of the ingredients and packaging required to make Picky is in the right place at the right time, we then ensure that it ends up in the stores ready to be taken home and consumed, so basically it covers everything in and everything out of our facility.
When you think about Hastings, what local ingredients or foods immediately come to mind?
Well thanks to Picky – Apples immediately come to mind and we grow great apples in Hawkes Bay.
What’s a typical day like for you here?
A constant juggling act and problem solving to ensure our facility is scheduled to its most efficient and producing the products in demand.
What’s one thing you love about being in the Hastings region?
Just one? Weather and lifestyle would be the top 2.
Which limited-time-only thing should be an unlimited-forever-always thing?
Hard to say, but Hot Cross Buns would feature although their scarcity at times probably makes them better when they are available.
Who’s your ideal celebrity three-legged-race teammate?
Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson – very talented, energetic, strong and great sense of humour so would be a fun race.
