Picky x Kids Can T-Shirt Design - Terms and Conditions
Promoter & Purpose
The promoter is Picky, Hawkes Bay, NZ. This promotion supports KidsCan; 100% of proceeds from the limited-run winning tees will be donated to KidsCan.
Campaign Period
Opens Thursday 16 April, entries close on Saturday 16th May (NZDT). Late entries will not be accepted.
Eligibility
Open to tamariki aged 5–13 in Aotearoa, entered into one of two groups: Years 1–3 (5–8) and Years 4–8 (9–13). Parent/guardian consent is required for all entrants. Schools may submit on behalf of students with consent.
How to Enter
a) Download the tee template from the official landing page, print it, and create your design on paper (flat surface).
b) Schools: either post paper entries to 127 Te Ara Kahikatea, Tomoana, Hastings 4102, or scan and email to hello@wearepicky.co.nz (include student first name, age, class, and school contact).
c) If shortlisted, we may contact you (or your school) for a clearer copy or minor adjustments for print.
Originality & Prohibitions
a) Artwork must be new, created solely by the entrant for this campaign, and never previously published or submitted elsewhere.
b) No AI-generated elements (in whole or part).
c) No third-party IP or likenesses: do not include or imitate real people, characters, brands, logos, copyrighted imagery, or distinctive styles owned by others.
d) No plagiarised or previously commercialised designs.
e) Entries must be suitable for children and general audiences (Picky reserves the right to decline offensive/inappropriate content).
Entry Limits & Costs
One entry per person unless otherwise stated on the entry form. Entrants are responsible for any creation/scan costs.
Judging & Winners
a) Judged on creativity, originality, brand vibe, by a panel including Picky and KidsCan representatives.
b) One winner per age group. Picky may contact shortlisted entrants for file/material confirmation.
c) Judges’ decisions are final; no correspondence will be entered into.
Prizes
a) Each winner’s design will be produced as a limited-run T-shirt sold exclusively via wearepicky.com, with 100% of proceeds donated to KidsCan.
b) Winners receive tees for immediate family members and free Picky Juices for their school year group (details confirmed with the school).
c) No cash alternative. If a prize item is unavailable, Picky may substitute a prize of comparable value.
Production & Merchandising
a) Picky may make minor adjustments to design placement/scale/colour for print feasibility/garment constraints.
b) Picky may cease merchandising without notice if similar designs are found to be publicly available or for operational reasons.
Rights & Usage (Licence)
By entering, the entrant (and their parent/guardian) grants Picky a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, adapt, and communicate the artwork (and the entrant’s first name, age, school) to the public for judging, production, promotion, and sale of tees for KidsCan fundraising, including social media, PR, and retail listings. Ownership of the original artwork remains with the entrant.
No Further Use by Entrants
Finalists/winners agree not to reuse or submit their winning/shortlisted artwork to other competitions or commercial uses during the campaign and merchandising period.
Publicity & Consent
Winners (and their parent/guardian) consent to reasonable publicity (e.g., photos, school visit content) without additional payment.
Disqualification
Picky may disqualify entries that breach these T&Cs (including suspected plagiarism or AI use) or are incomplete/illegible.
Liability
Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, Picky and KidsCan are not responsible for: (i) lost, late, misdirected, or corrupted entries; (ii) any technical difficulties; or (iii) any loss/damage arising in connection with entering, judging, or prize fulfilment.
Privacy
Personal information is collected for the purposes of administering the promotion and prize fulfilment, and will be handled in accordance with Picky’s Privacy Policy. Limited winner details may be shared with KidsCan and the winner’s school for verification and prize delivery.
Changes & Cancellation
If reasonably required, Picky may amend, suspend, or cancel the campaign, prizes, dates, or these T&Cs (e.g., for printing/logistics or school/holiday timing), while aiming to honour the spirit of the fundraiser.
Conflict Clause
If there is any conflict between this page and the Rules for Entry on the website, the Rules for Entry shall prevail.
Governing Law
New Zealand law applies. Courts of New Zealand have exclusive jurisdiction.
